Power management Product Line

Symmid’s family of power management products are highly integrated, mixed signal ICs that provide power management for mobile applications, enabling longer battery operating time and next generation technologies. Solutions are available for a wide range of output power, optimizing both size and performance for specific power levels. For BOM optimization, we also offer highly integrated solutions with the PMOS and NMOS switches integrated while maintaining optimum dead-time control. All our converters come with standard features of short-circuit, UVLO, blanking, over-voltage, and over-temperature protection. Our DC-DC converter solutions are available as a packaged device or as an IP core.

Applications include PDAs, smart phone, notebook and Netbook PCs, power tools, automotive, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, Energy Storage System (ESS) and other rechargeable battery powered products.

SD925 Constant-Frequency Current-Mode PWM Switching DC-DC Buck Controller


Symmid’s SD925 DC-DC Buck Converter is a constant frequency (550 kHz), current-mode buck controller that delivers space efficiency, reduced bill-of-materials (BOM) costs, and increased battery life while providing excellent light load efficiency and minimum light load ripple. It provides system flexibility by allowing settings of the current limit with external resistor. The output voltage can be configured using 2 external resistors.

Its standard features include UVLO, short-circuit, over-voltage and over-temperature protection. Operating frequencies at 550kHz allows the use of a smaller inductor. The SD925 is available in a small form-factor TSOT-6 package without the need for additional thermal relief.

We have several optimised architecture options in development or validation which include replacing the external Schottky diode by an internal NMOS and internal stability compensation to eliminate the need for external components.
